Solarize Eugene Celebration!

Thanks to everyone who was at Ninkasi (in person and in spirit!) on July 25 to help us celebrate the success of the Solarize Eugene program!  Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy and State Representative and Solarize participant Phil Barnhart made a toast to solar in Eugene, and program participants, volunteers, EWEB & city staff, The Resource Innovation Group staff, and additional community supporters were all on hand to celebrate the success of Solarize Eugene!

In the final week of the three-month long Solarize Eugene program, more than 50 households are on their way to going solar for a projected 125 kilowatts of new solar generation!  Two hundred and fifty three community members have registered for Solarize Eugene while more than 325 community members have attended educational workshops on residential solar hot water and electricity.  Compare this to 152 total residential solar electric systems installed in EWEB territory from 2001 to 2011.

Special thanks to Craig Strobeck who took photos of the event.  See a handful of the pictures here on Facebook and all of the photos here on Craig's website.
